Cabin 2011

We were blessed enough to spend 2 weeks in Colorado this summer.  We loaded up the truck and trailer and made the 750 mile (almost 20 hours when traveling with two kiddos and a dog) trek up the mountain.  The kids were awesome.  Round trip not a single tear was shed.  I had them sitting next to each other and they entertained each other the whole way (with the help of the Ipod).  This was also Heidi's first trip up the mountain and she was the best mountain dog ever!

We got to the cabin on my birthday and easily got things unpacked.  A lot of friends made their way up the mountain this summer.  We also got to go fishing twice and visit the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.  Clint, Adam, and Jason installed a sink and countertop for me and we worked to get the bathroom finished for next summer with the help of Joel and Jason!!!

We also passed the rough-in plumbing and framing inspections.

Both Sawyer and Beau did great.  I was a little of afraid that Beau would put everything in his mouth and be unhappy, but he was pure joy.  Sawyer loved it and told us that when he grows up he is going to be a "mountain climber".  He did great on our hikes.  It was a great two weeks as a family.  We are looking forward to spending more time up there.  It also helped that we were missing out on the 100+ degree temps back home.

Beau was worn a lot during our time in the mountains.

I painted an old claw foot tub for our cabin while we were up there.  Clint picked out the color.  It was bright but I think it will look good.

My builders both have their tool belts on.

Fourth of July.  These brothers planned this.  : )

My little Mountain Climber.  He never ceases to impress me!

Heidi did great running the mountains.

These were Clint's shades straight from the 80s.

This is the stud that made our cabin happen (with a lot of help).

Beau spent most of the time sleeping with us.  It would have bothered me, but I woke up to this sweet angel every morning.

Our friends from Houston, The Kemners, came to visit for the weekend.  They now live in New Mexico.  It was a blast to hang out with them again and for our kids to play together.

The Black Canyon.  In the words of Sawyer, it was "really, really, really, really deep."

Hallelujah!  My sink.  For now at least.

This baby should be in working order next summer.  With a toilet!

One of our favorite spots.

Clint working on things.  Yes, for two weeks straight he only wore camo clothing.
The drive home. See how happy they are.

Beau - Eight Months

Beau turned eight months old on July 10th.  His 8th month (from June 10th to July 10th) was fairly uneventful.  He started making more noises, saying "Ma Ma" and "Da Da", and doing a little army crawl.  He got pretty good at getting around on his belly.  He even started pulling up this month.  Before he even started crawling!  He has been an absolute doll.  We had a very busy and active summer and he was such a trooper.  I learned a new term, FOMO.  Beau has FOMO or as I put it a "fomophobic".  He has a "Fear Of Missing Out".  He is always ready for a good time.
