Easter - April 7th - April 13th

Sawyer got a horrible rash this week. We took him back to the doctors and she said the ear infection had cleared up, but he had a viral rash. Two days later he was running a fever again and we went back to the doctors. The ear infection came back. This is his first time to get sick and now he has had two ear infections back to back. He is such a trooper though.

Sawyer didn't let the rash and ear infection keep him from having fun at Easter. Clint kept telling him the rash was because he got bit by the Easter bunny. We went to the beach this week. Galveston looked nice along the seawall, but the rest of the island looked pretty rough.

On Easter Sunday, the Easter bunny came, we went to church, then went to a friend's house for lunch. Sawyer got to play with his buddy Karsten. We had a nice three day weekend. I always associate Easter with a feeling of renewal. Life has been crazy for us lately, but it was nice to have a slower weekend and really feel Christ's presence. Thank you Jesus for dying for our sins!

March 31 – April 6 – Road Trip

After we left Arkansas we headed to Bartlesville, Oklahoma to look for a house. It was exhausting. It took us four full days of house hunting before we finally put a contract on one. We aren’t getting our hopes up yet, because there are still some unresolved issues with the house. We are just praying and waiting that it all works out. We really enjoyed seeing B’ville. We did experience some culture shock when we couldn’t find a pizza place that served salads too. And when we went to Walmart to fight the crowds. I forgot that Walmart is the epicenter of small towns. We did make some new friends, at the pizza shop, coffee shop, cafĂ© and hotel. Everyone was friendly. But the highlight of the week was spending all day and night just the three of us. It felt so right just hanging out as a family. Sawyer just thrived having us all together all the time. He started pulling up on all fours and rocking, talked a lot, and waved his happy arms (those of you who have met Sawyer know exactly what I am talking about).

Sawyer is playing in the hotel room. He was such a trooper all week.

Unfortunately Sawyer seemed to be enjoying the calculator way too much. I hope he isn't destined for dorkiness by having two engineers for parents.

I did notice earlier in the week that Sawyer was pulling on his ears some. He had no fever, no other change in behavior at all. I called the doctor and she said to wait until he had a fever. But nothing ever happened. On Friday I took Sawyer to the Siloam Springs medical clinic. Sure enough he had an ear infection. His first. There was no way I would have ever known except he tugged on his ears a little and had a little runny nose. After our doctor’s visit we then headed to Memphis, TN for a wedding. Clint’s cousin was getting married. We met up with Clint’s parents in Memphis. We spent the weekend searching for the country’s best barbeque (we only found the 2nd best according to the sign inside), paying our tributes to the king, and attending the wedding at the panda exhibit at the Memphis Zoo. It was a beautiful wedding and a great weekend.

We paid tribute to the king in Memphis. Here we are standing in front of Graceland.

Sawyer found someone who understands what it is like to be mostly belly at the Memphis Zoo.

Sawyer is heading to his first cousin once removed, Heather's wedding at the Memphis Zoo. It was so neat.

Sawyer is chowing down at a truck stop.

March 24-March 30 – JSF’s Baby Shower

So you may wonder who JSF is. We are wondering too. Julia and Taylor are only revealing the first and last name of the baby boy. He is going to go by his middle name per the Faught family tradition, so all we know is Jonathon #@%! Faught. We been given a few clues and I have a pretty good guess, but I am keeping that to myself.

This week was crazy. We got our house finally all ready to go on the market, then packed up and headed started our road trip. Clint and I were exhausted before our trip even started. Our first stop was Arkansas for Julz’s shower. It was a very nice shower even though we had a lot of snow on Saturday. We go to hang out with family and friends for the rest of the weekend. Sawyer had a blast playing with his cousins. Jack is pretty much crawling and he is only 6 months old. Sawyer is getting pretty close. We are already starting to see the trouble the little guys will make. Sawyer was working super hard to reach for a toy just out of his reach. After a few minutes he finally got close enough and grabbed it. As the toy was making its way to his mouth Jack appeared out of nowhere and hit the toy out of Sawyer’s reach again. Sawyer erupted. I have never seen him cry so hard in his entire life.
Doesn't Julie look great!

Sweet Savannah is sooo laid back and easy going (and beautiful). Sawyer loves to play with her. Savannah's mommy and I used to play together when we were that age.

My neice Elizabeth is eating her sixth cinnamon roll of the morning at Julie's shower. Two year olds should never have that much sugar (along with 6 cinnamon rolls she had a large bag of chocalate candy and a sucker bottle that she won during the games -- she can't help it if she has a sweet tooth).

March 17 – March 23 – Our Little Ham

Sawyer has learned to pose for the camera. I am not kidding. He sits up tall and smiles every time we break it out. Clint and I like to whip out the camera just to get a laugh at what a ham the kid has become. We had a nice Sunday afternoon by going to the park and enjoying the flowers. You probably are going to see a lot more pictures of the baby posted because it is just so much fun to take pictures of him now.

March 10 – March 16th – Big Boy

Clint’s offspring absolutely loves being outside. Not surprising. So I have gotten into the habit of taking Sawyer to the park after work a few days a week. We are less than a 5 minute walk to the park and the weather has been so pleasant lately. Sawyer loves to swing, slide and watch the other kids run around. Unfortunately though he screams when we get ready to leave. I am afraid I have three more years of that to deal with.
