Bartlesville Home

Once we got our house in Bartlesville fixed up, we were very happy with it.  We worked really hard remodeling it and getting it cleaned up.  We made sooooo many happy memories in this house, even though we were only there for 3 years.  The last two years especially were such an easy time in our lives.  It was the perfect house for small children.  There was plenty of space with lots of storage, the layout was very easy with small children, a big fenced in yard, a big covered patio, long driveway with afternoon shade (perfect for learning to ride a bike), the neighborhood park right next door, a greenbelt (drainage area) behind, quiet street, 13 mile walking/biking trail at the end of the street with easy access to other parks, respectful neighbors (though not many kids), large laundry room, sidewalks in the neighborhood, street lights, perfect location. . . It had all the important things for a great childhood.  We were sad to leave because this house was such a labor of love.

It was on the market for exactly one month.  This was pretty good because Bartlesville real estate was starting to stall out.  The new home owners were difficult, and Clint worked with the husband.  We held our breath until the very end.  Hopefully they can make as many happy memories as we did in the home.

Clint's 31st Birthday and Father's Day

Like always Clint's birthday and Father's day fell on the same weekend.  We knew we weren't going to be able to really celebrate my birthday this year, so we kept Clint's birthday celebrations pretty low key as well.  We didn't even get each other presents, but went together on a date to Johnny's in OKC and to get new "running" shoes later on in the summer.   Clint also put in his 2 weeks notice the day before his birthday.  We wanted to make sure that if things did not go as planned we would have a weekend to figure out what to do.  But fortunately his managers and peers at Phillips 66 were supportive of his crazy idea to become a college professor.

 I made Clint peanut butter and nutella cupcakes with a reese on top.  His favorite.  For his birthday meal I made giant burritos inspired by Chuy's.

 On Father's day we grabbed burgers from Burger King and our annual ICEE and headed to Osage Hills.  The boys had a blast playing in the creek.  It was a great way to spend the day!

Lake Weekend - June 2012

We anticipated a crazy summer, so the boys and I took advantage of a quiet weekend at the lake in the beginning of June.  We had a great time watching movies and making late night brownies, sleeping in, fishing, swimming, long walks, and just being quiet.  All of us absolutely love going to the lake house.  We also made a day trip into Grove to check out Harbor Village.  Sawyer really enjoyed going through all the cabins, especially the hands on exhibits. 

We made the drive many many times from Bartlesville to the lake via route 66.  We finally stopped to check out the bowling ball yard art.  To be honest, the whole thing kind of creeped us out.
