New Years 2012

Over the years Clint and I have started a little bit of a New Years tradition.  Instead of having resolutions, we pick a motto of the year.  We have a low key New Year's Eve with a fattening and delicious sandwich.  Lastly we go on a hike on New Year's Day.  This year things went a little differently.  We went on a hike at Osage Hills on New Year's Eve because the weather was gorgeous and 70 degrees!

Beau is still the best cuddle bug.

Sawyer is throwing his spiderman web.  He does this all the time at imaginary bad guys.

We came home and ate homemade Muffalettas.  They met our criteria, delicious and fattening.

After dinner our friends Amy and Rene came to hang out.  We didn't quite make it to midnight, but we were close.  I know we are totally lame, but every year we claim we would like to start the New Year doing our favorite thing, sleeping.

We anticipate 2012 to be a bit of a crazy year, so our motto is  "Sometimes it is a little better to travel than to arrive." - Robert M. Pirsig.  We hope it keeps up grounded throughout the year and to enjoy the wild ride we are on in 2012.

On New Year's Day we headed to the lake.  It was a quiet weekend and we just ate and rested.  The weather was windy and cold.  Poor Beau started to get sick so we spent the next two days just hanging out.
