We had a great Easter. Sawyer really got into the message that Jesus' tomb was empty on Easter Sunday and Beau got really into finding Easter eggs. Grammy and Grandpa had an Easter egg hunt for the boys in their backyard. Next the boys went to Meme and Kimbo's for their annual Easter egg hunt. It is a pretty big deal because there are nine grandkids, plus nieces, nephews and family friends. The boys had a great time and had no problem holding their own even with the more seasoned Easter egg hunters.
While hunting eggs, the kids found a rainbow king snake guarding an egg. All the other kids thought it was so cool and were snapping pictures with their parents i-phones while Sawyer was screaming bloody murder, running back to the house, and hiding. I guess we shouldn't let him watch "Nature's Deadliest" on Netflix anymore.
This little guy, Summit, turned one the day of the birthday party. He is such a sweet little guy.
We dyed eggs Easter weekend. Beau loved it and dyed eggs longer than anyone. He quickly decided that it was much faster to stick his hand in to grab the egg rather than using a spoon. He also liked the cool cracking noises the eggs made anytime they hit something. We only had about two edible eggs when it was all over.
Sawyer got really into doing the resurrection eggs. We probably read them to him at least 20 times leading up to Easter. He even slept with his eggs. I love Jesus and all, but I packed those babies up as soon as Easter was over.
The boys loved their Easter baskets. The second most popular toy was their foam light sabers made from pool noodles with the first being chocolate of course.
Like I said Beau was quite the pro finding Easter eggs. We had lots of practice with Easter egg hunts in the backyard and around the house leading up to Easter. Most of the eggs were filled with quarters this year. Sawyer got a quarter map for Christmas. Clint has hijacked the map and is obsessively trying to collect all the quarters.
