Happy Birthday Sawyer!

We have been so blessed with this amazing little guy.  We can't believe Sawyer turned four this year.  Sometimes he seems so grown up, but most of the time he is still our baby.  He is still an incredibly easy child for the most part.  He made the transition moving to Stillwater like a champ.  He is calm, shy around others, so considerate, inquisitive, and a total sponge.  But he also is full of joy and can get soooo excited and laugh and laugh.  He talks constantly with mom and dad and asks millions of quetions.  He still loves to read and watch cartoons.  But the most amazing thing is how much he loves his brother.  He is so patient, kind, and loving with Beau.  It is such a beautiful peek into his heart and I love it.  He is very very rule conscience and never breaks them.  That being said he does struggle with whining and a bad attitude.  It is mostly directed at mommy and I recognize them as little control issues.  It does test my patience like nothing else.

We had not been in Stillwater very long so his birthday was pretty low key.  We really wanted to celebrate the whole week, especially since four is such a special time for any holiday.  Clint started the week by taking him on what he thought was his last bike ride because his legs are getting so long.  Sawyer loves bike rides, on the back of daddy's or on his own with his training wheels on.

On Friday before his birthday Sawyer and I had a special date to the Sushi House.  Clint is not really crazy about sushi, but Sawyer loves it.  We had a great time going on a one on one date.  We finished our lunch with scones from Aspen.

Saturday, his actual birthday, it rained and rained.  We had been in a drought with ridiculously high temps for a long time so we were thrilled.  Ironically it poured on Sawyer's third birthday as well.  Clint took Sawyer to a special breakfast at Shortcakes.  We then all met up at the farmers market to play and buy produce before the storm rolled in.  Meme and Kimbo sent Sawyer a Buzz rocket ship and Buzz costume.  He was in love!

Beau had to dress up too, and spent the rest of the day in this mini storm trooper costume.

Later in the week Sawyer got a iron man costume from Shepherd and Summit.  He loved it even more than the Buzz costume.  In fact he still pretty much lives in his iron man costumes.  I love four year old boys.  Aunt Juju was also thoughtful enough to get Beau and iron man constume, or as Beau calls it an iron baby costume.

Grammy got Sawyer an easal with art supplies.  The boys have made some great art work.  Grammy is always prepared with new and different supplies when they come to visit.

We had a small party for Sawyer at Grammy and Grandpa's pool.  It stopped raining just in time.  Sawyer wanted a spiderman party, so that was the theme.  We just had one family over, the Ramsy family, mainly because we had not made many friends yet.  We really appreciated Grammy and Grandpa's hard work and decorations.  We ordered Hideaway pizza and ended up with a free one.

Sawyer didn't swim much at his party becasue he didn't want to take his new costume off.  Everyone else enjoyed the pool and just play time.

 Sawyer loved all his presents.  He ended up getting a spiderman web slinger that sprayed silly string.  That was quite popular and brought about a lot of laughs.

On Sunday Sawyer wanted to go on a four wheeler ride at the farm.  Fortunately the weather was gorgeous so we packed a picnic for after lunch.  Beau was just as excited and serious about the four wheeler as Sawyer was.

Sawyer's last present was a tire swing in the back yard.

We also told Sawyer we would take his training wheels off for his fourth birthday.  I was skeptical that he would learn to ride quickly without the training wheels, but he suprised us all.  The first two weeks it was blistering hot, Clint was gone a lot and I felt like I was getting a little too big to run behind the bike.  I finally stuck it out and within one week of practicing regularly he became a pro.  Seriously, this barely four year old was riding better than me in no time!  We were so proud.  It also helped that the little five year old boy next door was learning at the same time and picked it up very quickly.  Sawyer was determined and was not going to be left behind.  Way to go!
