We decided to end spring break with a little weekend getaway in Wichita,
KS. Neither Clint nor I had been and for the boys it meant we got to
STAY IN A HOTEL!!! We arrived in Wichita on Saturday at lunch. It was
freezing. We picked up Chick-fil-a then went to a park to eat. We were so
cold that we then had to go to Walmart and buy more layers (Clint ended
up with a stocking cap with moose antlers. Hah!). Finally we were
ready to hit up the Wichita zoo. We only had about two hours before
they closed, but it ended up being the right amount of time. We
headed to our hotel, ordered pizza, and went swimming. The boys love
hotel rooms. The next morning was St. Patrick's day. There was a
target in our hotel parking lot so we grabbed some Lucky Charms. We went to a museum that has the most complete skeleton of a
Tyrannosaurus Rex. Sawyer was into dinosaurs at that point so our ultimate goal was to see the dinosaur bones. We enjoyed the museum and driving around Wichita. We
ate lunch at an Irish Pub along with all the other crazies out
celebrating St. Patrick's Day. After lunch we headed home to a St.
Pattie's Day dinner at Grammy and Grandpa's. It was a perfect little
get-a-way for our little family. The kids thought it was amazing and
that's all that matters. Unfortunately I deleted quite a few pictures
from the weekend.
